PGA Tour stars react to missing US Open cut: "It's all pretty sh***y!"
Justin Thomas, Phil Mickelson, Max Homa and Jordan Spieth were among the big names to miss the cut at the 2023 US Open. Here's how they reacted.
Justin Thomas says he was 'the lowest I've felt' after a disastrous US Open that saw him miss the cut by 12 shots.
Thomas, 30, carded an opening round of 73 and you would have backed the two-time major champion to make it to the weekend.
But he was sent packing after two rounds at Los Angeles Country Club along with some huge names who failed to post 2-over or better.
Thomas will likely to stick around to see if good buddy Rickie Fowler can finally convert a good start and claim his maiden major.
Credit to Thomas for sticking around and facing the music after posting an 81 to reach a score of 14-over after 36 holes.
His second round included three double bogeys, seven bogeys and two birdies.
Thomas said:
Thomas added: "It's all pretty sh***y when you shoot 14-over."
Still, he has another major left this year. Tiger Woods may not be at the 151st Open but Thomas will be.
He vowed:
Thomas wasn't the only big name player to miss the cut at the 123rd US Open.
Among the big hitters also going home early included: Phil Mickelson, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Justin Rose, Max Homa and Adam Scott.
