It's fair to say Brooks Koepka is in a pretty buoyant mood at the US Open, judging by the way he decided to exit his news conference.

Koepka, 33, is attempting to win his sixth major championship at Los Angeles Country Club this week.

He's feeling fit and healthy again, his beautiful wife Jena Sims is expecting a baby and, he could one day re-join the PGA Tour

Koepka previously admitted that his decision to join LIV Golf would've been much harder had he not been struggling with a persisting knee injury.

Who knows the real truth but most accepted those quotes as Koepka seemingly admitting to cashing in while he could.

As expected, Koepka was asked about the surprise deal the PGA Tour have struck with LIV Golf's Saudi backers.

Koepka confirmed that he was having breakfast in a bar when he saw the announcement on the news.

He watched a little bit of Jay Monahan's interview alongside LIV mastermind and Saudi businessman Yasir Al-Rumayyan and then went out to practice.

Monahan has now stepped away from his day-to-day duties after suffering a 'medical issue'.

"It didn't matter to me," Koepka said when asked if he felt vindicated. "Like I said, I'm trying to focus on this week.

"I think that's why I've been really good at majors, honestly."

Koepka mentioned that he enjoys the chaos currently enveloping the world of men's professional golf.

He told the media:

"Like I've said, the more chaotic things get the easier it gets for me. Everything starts to slow down and I am able to focus on whatever I need to focus on while everybody else is dealing with distractions, worried about other things."

Koepka said he first noticed players 'bitching and complaining' at the 2018 US Open at Shinnecock Hills.

"They [the players] were all so focused on the golf course they kind of forgot what was going on," he said.

It was 12 months ago that Koepka was involved in a tense news conference.

He accused the media of casting a 'black cloud' over the US Open when he was asked if he would be defecting LIV Golf.

We know now he accepted more than $100m to join.

He could be in a position at some point in the future of playing on the PGA Tour again.

Koepka appeared interested in having that door swing open, although he said he wasn't going to be engaged in the 'what-if' game.

If it happens, it happens, he said. Koepka was announced as a LIV Golf player during the aforementioned Monahan's news conference last year.

The timing of the announcement appeared deliberately timed to twist the knife on Monahan and the tour.

Koepka then decided to leave his news conference like this:
