Key Features:

  • Low-Spin Design – The forward CG placement reduces spin, helping strong players achieve penetrating ball flights.
  • Compact 430cc Head – Slightly smaller than the standard Qi35 model for a more workable and precise shot shape.
  • Fade Bias Weighting – A toe-weighted design that promotes a left-to-right shot shape, ideal for high-speed swingers who want to eliminate a left miss.
  • Advanced Aerodynamics – Designed to reduce drag and increase clubhead speed.
  • Premium Shaft Pairings – Optimised for stiffer, low-launch shafts to match the needs of high-speed players.
  • New Fitting Matrix – TaylorMade’s updated fitting system considers closure rate and player tendencies for optimal shaft recommendations.

TaylorMade has been pushing the boundaries of driver technology, and the Qi35 LS is their latest offering in the low-spin category.

Designed as a tour-level driver, the Qi35 LS is built for high-speed players who want to maximise distance while maintaining control.

It features a compact head shape, a forward CG (centre of gravity) placement, and a fade-biased design, making it a true "bomber" for those with the skill to control it.

In this review, we’ll break down the performance, feel and playability of the TaylorMade Qi35 LS Driver and learn more as to why it's one of the best golf drivers for better players in 2025.

Looks and Feel

The Qi35 LS is sleek, compact, and confidence-inspiring at address. It has a slightly smaller footprint than the Qi35 Core model, giving it a tour-inspired look. The matte finish reduces glare, and the overall aesthetic is clean and modern.

At impact, it has a solid and explosive feel, providing instant feedback on mishits. The lower spin and fade bias mean that toe strikes tend to hold their line better, while heel strikes can exaggerate a fade or slice.

Distance and Speed

In testing, the Qi35 LS produced impressive ball speeds, especially when struck from the centre. However, off-centre hits resulted in significant drop-offs in speed and distance compared to the more forgiving Qi35 Driver and Qi35 Max Driver.

When hit well, the penetrating flight and low spin can add 5-10 yards over a standard driver for high-speed players. However, for those who struggle to consistently find the centre of the face, the Qi35 Core or Max will likely provide more total distance due to their increased forgiveness.

The Qi35 LS is undeniably longer, but only if you consistently hit the sweet spot.

Forgiveness & Workability

This is not a forgiving driver—and that’s by design. The 430cc head and forward CG reduce MOI (moment of inertia), meaning off-centre hits will suffer more than with the Qi35 Core or Max.

However, for elite players, this driver provides exceptional workability. It allows shot shaping both ways but leans towards a natural fade bias, making it ideal for those who fight a hook.

For golfers off single-digit handicaps, the Qi35 Core will likely be the better fit, as it provides more forgiveness without sacrificing too much workability.

Who Should Play the Qi35 LS?

This driver is designed for:

Low-handicap and tour-level players who can consistently find the centre of the face.
High-speed swingers looking to reduce spin and gain extra distance.
Players who prefer a fade-biased driver to eliminate the left side of the course.
Shot-makers who want a compact, workable driver with a penetrating ball flight.

Who should NOT play this driver?

Mid-to-high handicappers—the lack of forgiveness will lead to major inconsistencies.
Players who need more spin for control—if you struggle to keep the ball in the air, the LS may cause more problems than it solves.
Golfers who prefer a draw-bias driver—this is a fade-biased club, so if you already struggle with a slice, it will only make things worse.

Final Verdict: Is the Qi35 LS Worth It?

Pros:

Low spin and high ball speed—perfect for elite players.
Compact head with a tour-inspired shape.
Workability is outstanding—great for shaping shots.
Penetrating flight with fade bias—eliminates the left miss for better players.

Cons:

Not forgiving—mishits are punished significantly.
Difficult to control for mid-handicappers.
Requires precise shaft fitting—TaylorMade’s new fitting system is great, but some players may feel limited by the recommendations.

Should You Buy It?

If you’re a low-handicapper with high swing speed, the Qi35 LS is one of the best low-spin drivers on the market. It rewards precise ball-striking with explosive distance and a penetrating flight, making it ideal for aggressive drivers of the ball.

However, if you need more forgiveness, the Qi35 Core or Qi35 Max will be better options. For most golfers, the Core model is the best blend of distance and forgiveness.

For those with tour-level ball-striking, the Qi35 LS is a serious weapon off the tee—but only if you have the skills to handle it.

🔥 Best for: Low-handicap players and fast swingers looking for a low-spin bomber.
⚠ Avoid if: You need forgiveness or struggle with off-centre strikes.
