US Open 2023: Prize purse, payout info
Everything you need to know about the prize purse and payout info for the US Open.
On Wednesday, the USGA announced that it would be increasing it's prize fund up to $20m for the 123rd US Open this week.
As a result, players will be competing for the top paycheck of $3.6m, while second will settle for $2.18m and third will receive $1.38m.
Last year, the purse was $17.5m, with winner Matt Fitzpatrick taking home $3.15m after defeating Will Zalatoris and Scottie Scheffler with a clutch par on the final hole.
This week, the US Open has gone out west to the Los Angeles Country Club in California.
Scheffler enters the week as the No. 1 player in the world with two wins so far this season. Behind him is Jon Rahm at No. 2, with four wins this season, including the Masters in April.
Rory McIlroy is No. 3 as he continues his nearly decade-long search for a fifth major title.
LIV Golf's Brooks Koepka is now seeking his sixth major title after winning the PGA Championship last month in the state of New York.
