Dustin Johnson makes announcement ahead of 2025 LIV Golf League season

LIV Golf superstar and two-time major champion Dustin Johnson joins the likes of Gary Player and Charley Hull by becoming a Golf Saudi ambassador.

Dustin Johnson has officially been confirmed as Golf Saudi's newest interntional ambassador ahead of the 2025 LIV Golf League season. 

Johnson, 40, now joins a growing number of players in the game to have partnered with Golf Saudi including nine-time major champion Gary Player and LPGA superstar Charley Hull

Two-time major champion and former World No.1 Johnson was officially announced in his new ambassadorial role at this week's PIF Saudi International.

Johnson unfortunately missed the cut by three shots after carding rounds of 70 and 72 to finish level par. 

A host of star LIV Golf names find themselves towards the top of the board heading into the weekend, including Joaquin Niemann, Cameron Smith and Tyrrell Hatton.

Johnson won 24 times on the PGA Tour before moving to LIV Golf in 2022 where he has won three individual titles to date. 

He is now the captain of 4Aces GC. 

The American's greatest career highlights include victories at the 2016 U.S. Open and 2020 Masters.

He has also represented the U.S. Ryder Cup team five times where he has been on the winning side twice.

Despite missing the cut at the PIF Saudi International, Johnson did use this week's trip to The Kingdom to provide a coaching lesson for young aspiring Saudi golfers. 

In his new international ambassadorial role, Johnson will help further drive the growth of golf within Saudi Arabia, working closely with country’s National Development Teams to deliver year-round lessons and coaching.

Johnson will also continue to be a regular at golf events in Saudi Arabia and wear the Golf Saudi brand logo while competing around the world.

"Golf Saudi is doing such a great job of promoting the game of golf and trying to get more people involved, here in Saudi Arabia and around the world," said Johnson.

"Me now being a Golf Saudi ambassador I’m very proud to be a part of that and I really want to help grow the game in Saudi.

"I won the first ever PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers at Royal Greens back in 2019. They do an amazing job of hosting all events out here - it doesn’t matter what kind of event or sport it is. 

"I've always really enjoyed coming here and Golf Saudi put on an incredible event, which has gotten better every year, which is why I've come back and played every year since the first one."

Golf Saudi is continuing to grow golf in Saudi Arabia – with this week’s PIF Saudi International no exception.

LPGA ace Charley Hull recently admitted she is "incredibly grateful" in her role as Golf Saudi ambassador.
