Charley Hull has lauded the work of Golf Saudi in encouraging more and more women and girls to get involved in the game.

Hull, 28, has been so impressed with the progression of the women's game ever since its inception in the Kingdom in 2020 that she decided to put to paper on a deal to become a Golf Saudi ambassador earlier this season.

The LPGA Tour superstar made her feelings be known about all things Golf Saudi just two weeks before competing in the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF season finale.

The tournament, which is organized by Golf Saudi and staged on the Ladies European Tour, will take place between 31 October and 2 November at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia.

Hull has recorded nine top 10 finishes in just 10 appearances on the Aramco Team Series, highlighted by an individual victory in New York in 2021.

Despite some impressive performances around the world over the past couple of years, including runner-up finishes at the US Women's Open and AIG Women's Open in 2023, Hull's last individual win came two years ago on the LPGA Tour at the 2022 Volunteers of America Classic.

England's Hull has competed in Saudi Arabia a total of eight times in her career, including both in the Aramco Team Series and the Aramco Saudi Ladies International.

Reflecting on her experiences in the Kingdom over the past few years, Hull noted the remarkable growth of the sport in Saudi Arabia since first appearance in 2020.

"The work that Golf Saudi continue to do in introducing more women and girls to the game through these events and beyond is inspiring, and the legacy they are creating is one I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of," said Hull.

"The sport has grown leaps and bounds here. Last year, we saw the move of the tournaments to Riyadh which I think really shows the Kingdom's increasing passion for the sport, with more and more fans coming to watch us."

Here's what Golf Saudi has to say about its role in the game:

"Golf Saudi facilitates uptake and participation in golf through the delivery of world-class facilities, operational excellence and the implementation of industry best practices to position the Kingdom as an exceptional golfing nation. Combined with grass roots training and education programs that introduce people to the game at the earliest opportunity and with the greatest ease, Golf Saudi is committed to delivering a dynamic national development program that transforms the golfing landscape."

Hull's latest comments on Golf Saudi come at a time where Saudi PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan, who also acts as the chariman of Aramco's board of directors, is attempting to finalise a framework agreement in the men's game with the PGA Tour and DP World Tour

PIF, PGA Tour and DP World Tour first announced their framework agreement in June 2023 to house all their commercial operations in a for-profit entity.

The framework agreement expired at the end of 2023, but all parties have continued to hold talks this season, most recently at the Dunhill Links at St Andrews earlier this month.

Al-Rumayyan was joined for the first round of the DP World Tour event alongside PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan.

Newly-promoted DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings also joined them to hold showdown talks at the Home of Golf.

Rory McIlroy, who played alongside his father Gerry, also got to play in the same groups as Al-Rumayyan and Monahan during the tournament.

There is hope in the golf industry right now that an eventual deal between PIF, PGA Tour and DP World Tour will go some way to unifying men's professional golf again following the emergence of the breakaway Saudi-bankrolled LIV Golf circuit starting up in 2022.

LIV Golf has acquired some of the PGA Tour's best talents over recent years, including the likes of Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia and Tyrrell Hatton.
