Popular golf social media accounts Golf Lover UK and Pro Golf Critic are claiming Tony Finau, Adam Scott and Thomas Detry are three very possible new names to be joining the LIV Golf League in 2025.

According to both Golf Lover UK and Pro Golf Critic, who have been the first to break a number of LIV Golf transfers and stories over the past few seasons, PGA Tour trio Finau, Scott and Detry are currently in deep discussions with those on the Saudi-bankrolled circuit to make shock moves this off-season.

The latest update provided by GLUK via X / Twitter comes on the same day that Finau, 35, withdrew from Tiger Woods' Hero World Challenge in The Bahamas, an event staged on the PGA Tour

Golf Lover UK believes Finau is expected to join RangeGoats GC in 2025.

Bubba Watson has been the captain of the RangeGoats for three years but the two-time Masters champion was relegated from LIV Golf this season.

It is believed Watson will return to the breakaway league and the RangeGoats in 2025 despite being demoted, however.

With Finau in line to join the RangeGoats, it means one player will have to step away from the four-man team.

And it has now been confirmed by Matt Vincenzi of Sports Illustrated that Thomas Pieters, 32, has today left the RangeGoats to join Dustin Johnson's 4 Aces GC.

Pat Perez is expected to be the player on 4 Aces GC to make way, especially with his contract coming to an end on 1 January 2025.

The 4 Aces also comprises Patrick Reed and Harold Varner III.

Other potential surprise transfers in the works, per Golf Lover UK and Pro Golf Critic, are former Masters champion Scott and talented Belgian Detry heading across to Greg Norman's league in 2025.

While it's unknown as this stage as to which team Scott could join, GLUK believes Detry is in talks to join up with Martin Kaymer's Cleeks GC.

Detry, 31, has found himself in contention for multiple DP World Tour and PGA Tour titles in recent times but is still yet to close out a first win.

Detry did, however, team up with his compatriot Pieters to win the World Cup of Golf in 2018.

"Between myself and Pro Golf Critic, we are regularly hearing names and information on what could be happening," GLUK tells GolfMagic.

"There is also an element of dismissing certain names as there are so many, but these three make sense and are coming from a few directions so happy to put them out as what we believe will happen."

Scott's potential transfer to LIV Golf would be something of a shock to the golf world, especially since the 44-year-old Australian currently serves on the PGA Tour's Board of Directors and he is also in the current lineup for Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's new TGL, which starts up in early 2025.

That is something that could prove a sticking point to a LIV Golf transfer, but talks are very much being held according to Golf Lover UK and Pro Golf Critic

"My only reservation with Scott is the TGL berth he has but we saw with Tyrrell Hatton that wasn't an issue," Golf Lover UK tells GolfMagic

Scott is a 14-time winner on the PGA Tour.

Scott missed all of his home Australian events last month for just the third time in 24 years.

"This year will be an exception, as I need to spend some quality time with my family and get some rest," Scott told Australian Golf Digest last month.

"I’m delighted to see that there are quality fields for our premier events.

"I wish all participants the best of luck, and I am sure the tournaments will be very successful.

"Even though I won’t be there this year I thank all the sponsors for supporting Australian golf."

A number of LIV Golf captains are in the market this off-season as they look to rebuild and strengthen their teams for LIV's fourth season.

Fireballs GC captain Sergio Garcia recently told GolfMagic that Eugenio Chacarra will not be returning to his team in 2025.

Garcia, who last month confirmed his return to the DP World Tour, told GolfMagic last month: "It's exciting to look at different options and looking at someone who could make the team better in every aspect.

"I think that's the end game, to make the team better as LIV Golf moves forwards.

"Sometimes you have to make little changes here and there I guess."

GolfMagic understands from Garcia that he is still working on the final member of his team.

Earlier this week, Majesticks GC co-captain Lee Westwood spoke exclusively to GolfMagic

Westwood revealed to us why he has not decided to follow Garcia and return to the DP World Tour.
