The Masters LIVE: Third round leaderboard, latest scores and commentary from Augusta National

Welcome to LIVE Day Three updates of The Masters, where both Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are in the hunt for the Green Jacket at famed Augusta National.

Justin Rose might hold a narrow one-shot lead heading into the weekend at The Masters, but all eyes are very much on career grand slam hopeful Rory McIlroy, who trails by just two shots entering Saturday's third round at famed Augusta National.

In fact, this is one of the most tightly-packed and power-packed 36-hole leaderboards we've seen at The Masters for a number of years.

Rose leads at 8-under par following rounds of 65 and 71 and he finds himself one shot clear of LIV Golf superstar Bryson DeChambeau.

The duo, which share three U.S. Open titles between them, will head out in the final group of the third round at 2.40pm local time, which is 7.40pm for U.K. fans.

McIlroy, who fired a brilliant 66 on Friday to bounce back into contention after a sloppy opening 72, finds himself in the penultimate group of the day alongside Canada's Corey Conners at 2.30pm.

Northern Ireland's McIlroy needs to win The Masters in order to complete the career grand slam, something only five other players have done in the modern era - Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.

World No.2 McIlroy is entering an 11th year now without a major to his name, the last of which came at the 2014 U.S. PGA.

But many people consider this will finally be his week, especially having picked up two massive PGA Tour titles already this season at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Players Championship.

Check out Masters Tee Times in full.

A total of 53 players made the weekend at The Masters, with the cut falling at 2-over par.

Plenty of superstar names missed the cut, none bigger than five-time major champion Brooks Koepka, who made a disastrous quadruple-bogey down the 18th to miss the cut by one.

Other former Masters champions Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson and Adam Scott have also packed their bags and headed out of Georgia.

Scottie Scheffler, the reigning champion, battled his way to an entertaining 71 on Friday but he's still right in the mix at 5-under par starting the third round.

Scheffler is attempting to become the first player since a certain Tiger Woods in 2002 to successfully defend The Masters.

Only three players - Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Sir Nick Faldo have ever gone back-to-back at Augusta National.

The runaway World No.1 is also attempting to become the first player since Nicklaus in 1962 to win three Green Jackets in four years.

Tyrrell Hatton, Shane Lowry, Jason Day and Viktor Hovland are also inside the top 10.

Here's a look at the Masters leaderboard heading into the third round:

Fire up the kettle, or something stronger (after all, it is the weekend...) and sit back and take in GolfMagic's third round updates LIVE from The Masters...

RORY EAGLE!

McIlroy -9 (2)

My word. Rory chips in for eagle and he leads the 2025 Masters.

Everyone take a deep breath!

19:53
What a start from Bryson!

DeChambeau -8 (1)

Oh my word. Bryson bins his birdie putt from miles away. Can Rosey reply?

19:51
Leaders tee off...

Rose -8, DeChambeau -7 (1*)

Rose hits his opening drive in the fairway bunker and is unfortunate his second isn't closer. He should be okay to make a par from there, though.

DeChambeau hits the fairway but his approach finds the back edge of the green...

19:50
Rory nukes a drive down the 2nd

McIlroy -7 (2*)

What a drive from Rors. That is enormous. He only has 219 yards to the pin. His approach looks perfect in the air but it never had a chance to stay on the green. A tricky up and down for birdie...

19:45
IT'S HAPPENING! EVERYBODY REMAIN CALM!

McIlroy -7, Conners -6 (1)

McIlroy hits a wedge to 10 feet at the 1st and then drains the birdie putt.

What a start.

Is everyone okay? I am fine.

It is fine.

19:41
Scheffler birdies the 2nd

Scheffler -6, Hatton -4 (2)

Scheffler tidies up his birdie to move to 6-under. Hatton has a chance to make amends for his sloppy mistake on the 1st but he pulls his putt and will remain at 4-under.

Justin Rose and Bryson DeChambeau are on the tee.

19:39
Great stuff from Zach Johnson

Johnson -4 (18)

Zach Johnson is in the clubhouse. A par at the 18th gives the American a third round of 66. Superb stuff.

19:38
Par for Lowry and McCarty

McCarty -5, Lowry -5 (1)

Lowry pushed his approach at the 1st but as we know he's pretty handy with a wedge. He nips his third close and taps in for par. McCarty follows Lowry.

19:31
Fore please! Rory McIlroy now driving

Strap yourselves in, folks. Rory McIlroy is underway. And it's a beautiful tee shot at 1...

19:25
Just two pairings left to tee off..

We're moments away from the penultimate group teeing off in the third round of the 2025 Masters.

Rory McIlroy is making his way to the 1st tee box now.

He'll be playing alongside Canada's Corey Conners.

Justin Rose and Bryson DeChambeau will tee off at 2.40pm ET / 7.40pm BST.

19:24
Scheffler par on the 1st

Scheffler -5, Hatton -4 (1)

Scheffler has a great look for birdie at the par-4 1st but his effort sneaks by the hole.

Hatton can't save par after finding the greenside trap with his approach.

19:22
McCarty and Shane Lowry tee off

Lowry -5, McCarty -5 (1*)

Former Open champion Lowry finds the short stuff with his patented cut down the 1st fairway.

Lowry will believe he has the pedigree to win here on his 10th Masters appearance.

19:20
Zach Johnson going under the radar

Johnson -5 (17)

The former U.S. Ryder Cup captain is going along nicely.

Johnson made birdie at 15 and 16 but he's just made a sloppy bogey at the 17th.

One more to go for the former champ.

19:17
Tyrrell is in the bunker

Scheffler -5, Hatton -5 (1*)

Hatton misses the fairway left with his tee shot. He's got a gap, though, and finds the front bunker.

What can Scheffler do? Thump. A great look for birdie...

19:10
Scottie Scheffler is about to tee off

Scottie Scheffler and Tyrrell Hatton are on the 1st tee ready to go...

16:37
Rahm bogey, back to level

Rahm Par (5)

Rahm fails to convert a curling right to left putt from six feet and it leads to his first dropped shot of the round.

The Spaniard is back to level par.

You would have to feel his chance of winning a second Masters is gone at eight shots back.

16:11
RAHM -3 THRU 3!

Rahm -1 (3)

This is some start from 2023 Masters champion Rahm.

The LIV Golf superstar has just made a third straight birdie.

Rahm is now into the red at 1-under par for the tournament.

Seven back, but some start for sure.

16:09
Niemann to level par

Niemann Par (4)

In-form LIV Golf star Niemann has just chipped in for birdie on the 3rd.

He's added another birdie on to 4th to nudge himself up to level par.

16:04
Rahm off to the races

Rahm Par (2)

It's some start for LIV Golf superstar Rahm.

He's just burst out the gate with birdies at 1 and 2.

Rahm is now back to level par for the tournament.

That's still eight shots off the pace though.

Jon Rahm

15:04
Tom Kim is underway in the first group

Kim +3 (1)

Tom Kim has absolutely no chance of winning The Masters but he's just teed off with a scorer in the first group of the third round.

The South Korean is one of the slowest players on the PGA Tour, so the field will be delighted to see he's out there on his own today.

Kim bogeyed the 1st to move back to 3-over par.
