Brooks Koepka torn to shreds after making devastating quad (!) to miss Masters cut
Brooks Koepka will be heading home from the 2025 Masters early after making a devastating quadruple bogey on the 18th hole at Augusta National.
Brooks Koepka stood on the 18th tee box at Augusta National on Friday afternoon looking as though he would play the weekend at the 2025 Masters.
But the big American came unstuck in remarkable fashion and will have to wait 12 months before he will get another crack at the green jacket.
Before he hit his tee shot Koepka was 1-over par for the championship and comfortably inside the projected cut.
Yet a few minutes later a furious Koepka trudged off the green having made a devastating quadruple bogey eight to end his chances.
Koepka's troubles began with a tee shot that was so wildly left he was forced to grab another ball from his long-time caddie Ricky Elliot.
He found the left side of the fairway with his provisional but watched in horror as his fourth shot landed left of the green and bounced into the patrons.
Koepka nudged his fifth shot onto the green but then sent his next putt about five feet past the hole.
He was not done.
After taking a few seconds to regain his composure, Koepka missed again.
He tapped in for a devastating eight which gave him a 3-over 75 and left him on 5-over par after 36 holes.
It looks like Brooks Koepka (quadruple bogey) and Dustin Johnson (double bogey) both made big numbers on 18 to likely miss the cut.

Koepka was one of 12 LIV Golf recruits in the field this week.
He was expected to mount a strong challenge for the title but will leave Augusta National early.
Koepka held the 54-hole lead in 2023 but lost to Jon Rahm.
He later conceded that he did in fact choke on that occasion and swore never to get swept up in the moment again.
Some golf fans on X tore into Koepka after watching his disaster unfold.
"He has completely checked out of the majors since he won the PGA Championship in 2023," one wrote.
Another wrote: "LIV Golf is what is wrong for Brooks."
One user twisted the knife: "He's just not good enough anymore."
Former champion Dustin Johnson also had similar troubles at the 18th and made a double bogey six.
He hit his tee shot right and was forced to chip out.
When he found the green, he took four putts.
It meant Johnson returned a second round score of 73 leaving him on 3-over par for the championship and one stroke outside of the projected cut.
"I'm playing better than that I scored for sure," Johnson told reporters.
