Stroppy PGA Tour pro snaps club then WDs from Valspar Championship
PGA Tour pro Justin Lower withdrew from the Valspar Championship before the second round after opening with a 77 at Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course.
It wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest PGA Tour pro Justin Lower had a day to forget at the Valspar Championship.
Lower shot an opening 77 at Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course.
And his frustration with his score was highlighted by his behaviour on No. 9. It was his 18th hole of the day and he was already 4-over par.
First he hit his tee shot into the fairway bunker on the left side of the fairway before finding the greenside trap.
After a tough bunker shot, he finally lost his cool and duly stomped on his wedge and snapped it in two.
Sometimes golf clubs just need to die.
Lower ultimately made a double bogey on the hole and with the projected cut at 1-under after 18 holes, it seemed an unlikely prospect he'd make the weekend.
He officially withdrew from the PGA Tour event before the second round.
His peak frustration moment was clipped and re-shared by the Golf Channel.
"Been there, done that," one X user wrote.
Another added: "Once again, just like the loser at Sawgrass. These dudes do it on hole 18. So fake. Do it on hole three and I'll be impressed."
That comment was in reference to Adam Hadwin losing his temper and tossing his iron into the water at last week's Players Championship.
Hadwin's epic tantrum was appreciated. Even by his wife.
