Tiger Woods enjoyed a morning round of golf with U.S. President Donald Trump at Trump International GC in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday.

Woods' round of golf with Trump, 78, comes just two days after the PGA Tour confirmed it was now very close to striking a deal with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) following a visit to see the newly-appointed U.S. President in Washington.

Their friendly knock also took place just days before Woods, 48, makes his PGA Tour return at the Genesis Invitational, which supports his charity Tiger Woods Foundation.

The 2025 Genesis Invitational has been switched from its usual venue Riviera CC over to Torrey Pines as a result of the recent Los Angeles wildfires.

Woods will be making his first official start on the PGA Tour since he withdrew from the 152nd Open at Royal Troon in July 2024.

The former World No.1 confirmed the sad passing of his mother Kultida earlier in the week.

It is believed Woods and Trump addressed a number of subjects during their Sunday round of golf, with the main topic being the PGA Tour's imminent deal with PIF.

Woods, a 15-time major champion and record 82-time PGA Tour winner, sits on the board of directors at the PGA Tour.

Before Trump was re-elected President in November 2024, he revealed he would be able to get the PGA Tour and PIF to strike a deal "within 15 minutes."

Trump is an avid golfer and reportedly plays off a low single-figure handicap.

While clearly a very good golfer, Trump has been known to give himself a number of generous gimmes during rounds of golf through the years - at least according to multiple reports down the years.

"Hopefully that it’s important to putt out and not rake in 8 footers," tweeted renowned golf writer Bob Harig after learning Trump was meeting Woods for a round of golf on Sunday.

After their round, Trump travelled over to New Orleans to attend Super Bowl LIX contested between Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome.

It marks the first time a sitting U.S. president has attended the NFL's flagship game of the season.

Trump's presence at the Super Bowl will be another historic moment, reflecting his deep connection to American sports culture.

Trump and Woods have been good friends for many years.

Beyond their shared passion for golf, they have collaborated on various occasions, with Woods designing courses on Trump properties and participating in tournaments held at Trump-owned venues.

Their mutual respect was evident when Trump awarded Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019, celebrating his contributions to the sport and his remarkable comeback in professional golf.
