"It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning," Woods wrote on X / Twitter.
"My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible. She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie.
"Thank you all for your support, prayers and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family.
"Love you Mom."
Kultida was born on September 30, 1946, in Thailand.
She met her husband Earl Woods, a U.S. Army officer, in Thailand during the late 1960s.
Earl and Kultida first met in the 1960s amid the Vietnam War.
As a soldier in the U.S. Army Special Forces, Earl was deployed to the same base in Thailand where Kultida, née Punsawad, worked as a secretary.
Their relationship blossomed, leading Kultida to move to the United States, where they married in 1969.
The couple then settled in Cypress, California, and in 1975, they welcomed their son, Eldrick Tont "Tiger" Woods.
Earl and Kultida were married for 37 years until Earl died in May 2006 at their home in Cypress.
Throughout Tiger's illustrious career, Kultida was a steadfast supporter, often seen cheering him on at PGA Tour tournaments and in the majors.
She was also most recently seen cheering Woods on during his TGL matches.
Woods shouted out to his mother in the crowd: "Hey Mom," Woods said. "Not gonna suck tonight, OK?"
He would go on to win his latest TGL match by defeating Rory McIlroy's Boston Common Golf in a playoff.

Woods' mother was heavily involved in philanthropic endeavors, contributing to the Tiger Woods Foundation and supporting educational initiatives for underprivileged children in both the United States and Thailand.
The Tiger Woods Foundation supports the PGA Tour's Genesis Invitational, which takes place at famed Torrey Pines next week.
Kultida's influence on her son extended well beyond the golf course.
Woods has described down the years how his mother instilled in him values of discipline, respect, and cultural appreciation, reflecting her Thai heritage.
Tiger has often spoken about the profound impact his mother has had on his life, emphasizing the blend of cultural backgrounds that have shaped his identity.
Woods describes one of his most proudest moments was when he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2022 in front of his mother and children, Charlie and Samantha.
GolfMagic would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the Woods family at this difficult time.
RIP Kultida Woods
