PGA Tour star Collin Morikawa has decided to part ways with his long-time caddie JJ Jakovac, according to a report.

Per CBS commentator and former Tour pro Colt Knost, Morikawa has called time on his association with Jakovac after a six-year association with the looper.

Morikawa has moved quickly to replace Jakovac with Max Homa's former caddie Joe Greiner, who walked away from the Ryder Cup star before The Masters.

A crestfallen Homa confirmed to reporters on the eve of the major that Greiner did so to preserve their friendship given his struggle for form.

Homa has not won since the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines and has fallen to 71st in the world rankings.

Greiner briefly worked for Justin Thomas and filled in for the two-time major champion at Augusta National.

Thomas confirmed their stint was only ever going to be short-lived whilst his regular caddie - Matt 'Rev' Minister - recovered from an undisclosed health condition.

Greiner was on the bag for Thomas two weeks ago when he finally ended his winless drought on the PGA Tour

Thomas had not tasted a victory since the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills but won the RBC Heritage after a sudden-death playoff against Andrew Novak.

The news will come as a bitter blow for Jakovac, who has been with Morikawa since he turned professional.

Morikawa is also going through an extended period without a win.

The 28-year-old racked up multiple PGA Tour victories when he turned professional - including two majors - but has not won since the 2023 ZOZO Championship in Japan.
