Sergio Garcia: I still believe I can win another major championship

European Ryder Cup hopeful and LIV Golf star Sergio Garcia believes that he still has the ability to win a second major championship at the age of 45.

Sergio Garcia believes a second major championship title is within reach.

Garcia took 18 years to land his first at the 2017 Masters but the LIV Golf star reckons he is playing well enough to nab his second in 2025.

The Spaniard confirmed in February that he has received an invite to the U.S. PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in May.

He'll compete at Augusta National next month as a past champion but faces two different routes to get into The Open and U.S. Open

Garcia can either head to qualifying or he can secure his spot in the fields at Oakmont and Royal Portrush by being the leading player on LIV.

On 5 February, the UGSA became the first major championship governing body award players on LIV with an exemption based on their performances on the breakaway tour.

The R&A followed a week later with an announcement of their own.

"If I have one of those weeks where I'm feeling comfortable and things kind of go my way and everything snowballs in the right direction, yes, for sure," Garcia told LIV's editorial lead Mike McAllister when asked he if he believes he can win another major championship.

"It's just a matter of trying to get myself in as many majors as possible.

"Obviously, if you have three or four chances a year, the odds are a little bit better than if you're just playing one or two.

"But I feel like my game is still in great shape. Yeah, I could definitely have a chance."

Garcia finished third in LIV's individual standings last year and he has started this season well.

The Spaniard, now 45, posted a top-10 finish in Riyadh and tied for 18th in Adelaide.

LIV Golf head to Singapore this week.

He added: "I'm not getting any younger, but I feel like I'm still in good shape. I'm healthy. I still have a great drive to play and improve and get better."

Garcia is also determined to make his 11th Ryder Cup appearance in September and claimed that even if he doesn't make the team, he will be involved in some capacity by liaising with team members over text.

The record points scorer previously revealed he was communicating with players during the 2023 contest in Rome.

And he has stressed there will be no bad blood should he make the team this year.

At the end of last year, the Spaniard confirmed that he would be returning to the DP World Tour in 2025, two years after he had his membership terminated with the Tour.

He has not competed on the DP World Tour yet but will likely make his return at the BMW International Open in July.

Garcia reportedly had to pay off £1m in fines in order to return to the DP World Tour and boost his chances of making Luke Donald's dozen.
