Reed's route to Masters glory came via par fives
Patrick Reed demolished the par fives at Augusta.
Looking over Patrick Reed's winning Masters scorecards, one key area jumps out - the par fives at Augusta National.
The 27-year-old Texan’s winning score was -15, and he picked up an incredible 13 shots over the opening three days on par fives alone.
There are four par fives at Augusta - so over those three rounds he parred one, birdied nine and eagle two!
In the final round, which Reed went into with a three stroke lead, he parred all of them...because he could. Had he not been in the lead, he probably would have pushed on those holes and broken the tournament record for the number of shots picked up on the par fives - 15.
