Finau shares picture of mangled ankle post-Masters
Tony Finau birdied six of his last seven holes yesterday...standing on this!
Tony Finau has shared pictures of his injured ankle following the Masters, making his run of six birdies in seven holes on the back nine at Augusta even more ridiculous.
The American dislocated his ankle celebrating a hole-in-one in the Par Three contest on Wednesday, a day before teeing it up in the opening round where he shot a 68 to leave him in second place.
Following his “miracle” round, Finau carded rounds of 74 and 73 to play himself out of contention.
But then came a final day of what was a bizarre week for Finau. He went out in 35, one under, for his opening nine on Sunday, before bogeying the 11th hole.
The big-hitting 28-year-old then birdied EVERY hole from the 12th to the 17th and narrowly missed picking up another shot on the 18th, coming home in 31 blows.
He finished on -7, T10 for the 2018 Masters.
