Aberg -4 (8)
The Swede stops the bleeding and picks up a birdie at the 8th.
Aberg -4 (8)
The Swede stops the bleeding and picks up a birdie at the 8th.
McIlroy -1 (8)
McIlroy pays the price for a poor tee shot.
He was forced to lay-up at the par-5 8th and gave himself about 15 feet down the hill for a much-needed birdie after playing a decent approach.
But the Ulsterman appears to misread his putt completely and watches his putt stay high. That never had a chance of going in.
McIlroy has 10 holes left today.
Can he make a move up the leaderboard?

Fleetwood -1 (6)
Finally, something drops for Tommy Fleetwood.
Fleetwood gets close at the par-3 6th and rolls it home from about five feet.
Im -5 (9)
We haven't mentioned Sungae Im much today.
But the Korean is now solo third after making the turn in 4-under par.
Im has kept a clean card and picked up strokes at the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th.
Rose -9 (12)
Rose converts at the 12th and now leads the 2025 Masters by three strokes.
"He is loving being in the thick of this," Nick Dougherty tells Sky Sports viewers.
Rose -8 (11)
Rose is now playing the famed par-3 12th.
And what a shot this is.
The Englishman's golf ball lands pin high and spins left towards the hole.
Great chance upcoming, and he'll get a read from his playing partner JJ Spaun...
Rory McIlroy will not have a chance to go for the green in two strokes at the 8th. He carves his drive well right...
McIlroy -1, Aberg -3, Bhatia -1 (7)
Aberg drops back to 3-under after playing the 7th poorly.
It all started with a wild drive that saw the Swede's golf ball land among the patrons right of the fairway.
Aberg had to chip out and, despite giving himself an outside chance to save his par, couldn't get his putt to drop.
McIlroy ticks off another par and trudges off the green looking a bit dejected.
He's seven shots behind Justin Rose at the minute.
Can he get anything going?
Par-5 to come...
McIlroy has a bit of tree trouble at the 7th.
Overhanging branches prevent McIlroy from taking dead aim at the pin but he manages to cut his golf ball perfectly and he leaves himself an outside chance of making a birdie.
Buch Harmon tells Sky Sports viewers the Augusta National patrons will appreciate just how good that shot was.
"They've seen them go sideways from there," Harmon says.
Lowry -2 (6)
Former Open champ Shane Lowry is now just outside the top-10 on the leaderboard thanks to a birdie at the par-3 6th.
Lowry's only dropped shot of the day arrived at the 4th.
McIlroy -1, Aberg -4, Bhatia -1 (6)
Trouble for McIlroy and Aberg at the par-3 6th.
The Swede can't save par after his tee shot landed well short and then trickled off the green.
McIlroy absolutely hated his tee shot, too, but played a beautiful greenside bump-and-run to gimme distance.
Rose -8 (10)
Justin somehow manages to escape the 10th with a par.
DeChambeau -6 (5)
Back-to-back birdies for the 2024 U.S. Open champ.
DeChambeau smashed a booming drive down the right side of the 5th fairway and played a crisp wedge to about 12 feet.
Massive cheers as his putt up the hill drops...
Schauffele -1 (6)
Schauffele grabs his second birdie of the day at the par-3 6th.
The two-time major winner hit a towering iron shot inside 10 feet and his putt just grabs enough of the left edge to roll in.
Rose -8 (9)
Rose has an opportunity to stretch his lead at the 9th but his 15-footer for birdie stops short.
Still, that's a 1-under 35 and he's only made two bogeys in his first 27 holes.
Rose has work to do at the 10th, though, as his approach is well short of the green...
Rahm +3 (4)
Jon Rahm has played four holes in level par but his patience is being tested.
He played a beautiful approach into the 4th hole and should've taken advantage but his left-to-right tester down the hill stayed up.
Will Rahm make the cut?
McIlroy -1, Aberg -5, Bhatia -1 (5)
McIlroy, Aberg and Bhatia all walk off the 5th green with pars.
The Northern Irishman was tentative with his 26-foot putt for birdie but who can blame him as the greens have really firmed up now.
Fleetwood E (3)
Tommy Fleetwood has played three holes so far today and he's kept a clean card.
He also birdied the 2nd to get back to level.
His coach Butch Harmon opines on Sky Sports that Fleetwood played beautifully yesterday but just didn't get anything out of his round.
DeChambeau -5 (4)
Bryson takes aim at the par-3 4th and he absolutely hates his tee shot.
He pulls it left straight into the trap.
Doesn't matter though, as the content king promptly holes out from the sand to snatch a birdie from absolutely nowhere.
Things are heating up at Augusta...
Rose -8 (8)
Justin strikes at the par-5 8th.
He opted for a fairway food off the tee and also used the same club for his lay-up despite having some mud on his golf ball.
A sweet pitch handed Rose another great opportunity to snatch another birdie.
And he obliges.
The lead is now FOUR strokes.
There's a long way to go but at the moment the projected cut is 1-over par.
The top 50 and ties will make it through to the weekend.
That means players like Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Will Zalatoris, Jon Rahm, Phil Mickelson, Tony Finau and Adam Scott will need to get a move on.
Schauffele E, Hovland -2 (4)
Viktor Hovland is chugging along nicely at the 2025 Masters. He drains a 10-foot putt on the 4th to move to 2-under.
Schauffele is 1-under for his round today, courtesy of a birdie at the 3rd.
McIlroy -1, Aberg -5, Bhatia -1 (4)
McIlroy's effort from miles away briefly threatens the hole but trundles on. But he holds his nerve and saves his par.
Aberg also two-putts and Bhatia escapes with a bogey despite leaving his second shot in the sand.
McIlroy -1, Aberg -5, Bhatia -1 (3)
Plenty of work to do for McIlroy to save his par at the 4th.
The long par-3 is playing tough this morning and McIlroy and his caddie Harry take plenty of time to decide what club to hit.
McIlroy opts for a 4-iron but the wind never even touched it and he'll be putting for birdie from at least 60 feet.
Aberg is safely on board.
