Scottie Scheffler has revealed he cut his hand making homemade raviolis.

The World No.1 was involved in the freak accident during the Christmas period.

Scheffler, 28,  required surgery to remove shards of glass from his right palm.

The lengthy layoff has forced Scheffler to miss the first signature event of 2025 in Hawaii as well as the Sony Open and American Express

The reigning Masters champion targeted a return last week but decided not to risk it over advice from his medical team.

He wants to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the end of the month.

The deadline to register for the tournament is Friday.

Scheffler told reporters in a virtual news conference on 20 January that he'll make that decision in the next few days.

He confirmed that he cut his hand making raviolis.

Scheffler also refused to say when he started hitting golf balls.

Yet he maintained that his recovery is going to plan.

A new clip of Scheffler was posted on Sunday evening by Chirosport TV and the video shows the golfer being put through his paces in a gym session.

Scheffler was wearing a bandage and could be seen performing some overhead lunges with a resistance band to help improve his stability.

"I'm definitely anxious to get back, excited to get back, but I'm also not going to rush back just to rush back," Scheffler said.

He added: "It was pretty unusual for me not to be able to do much in the gym.

"I was still able to get in there and do some movement stuff and some of the stuff I usually do with my legs.

"But as far as upper body goes, I’m not going to go and just work out the left side of my body and come into the season walking like this (leaning to right side)."

Scheffler said during his time off he watched several clips from his magnificent 2024 season.

He won nine times overall, including a second green jacket, an Olympic gold medal and the coveted Players Championship.

"I just really wanted to jog my memory and since I wasn't able to play golf, I tried to almost train a little bit at home to remind my brain what I was feeling over certain shots, what my hands felt like on the club, stuff like that, so I wasn’t totally checking out from golf," he said.
