Jason Day 'trolling everyone' with latest Malbon Golf look at Genesis Invitational
PGA Tour fans react to Jason Day's latest choice of Malbon Golf apparel during the Genesis Invitational.
Another week on the PGA Tour and another Jason Day Malbon Golf fit has seemingly divided opinion with golf fans on social media.
Day, 37, once again drew attention with his distinctive Malbon Golf apparel during the third round of the Genesis Invitational at famed Torrey Pines.
The former World No.1 sported an all-white ensemble featuring a cardigan adorned with blue and yellow prints depicting a golf swing.
The Australian's bold fashion choice once again sparked a flurry of reactions from PGA Tour fans and commentators alike.
Social media platforms buzzed with mixed opinions regarding Day's latest clothing choice.
Some PGA Tour fans criticized Day's look, with comments describing his sweater as "ugly" and "absolutely hideous."
One went as far to say "he's just trolling everyone at this point."

But despite a lot of heavy criticism across social media platforms, there were supporters who appreciated Day's attempt to infuse modern style into the sport, viewing it as a fresh twist in a traditionally conservative game.
"Would I wear it personally? No. Can Jason Day pull it off? You're damn right," said one PGA Tour fan.
Another commented: "Jason Day is the best-dressed man in golf right now. Absolutely zero doubt."
Unfortunately the sweater did not inspire a great performance for Day in the third round as he slumped to a 2-over 74 to lie T50 heading into the final round.
We can only all hold our breath as to what Day will rock on Sunday.
This week is certainly not the first time Day's partnership with Malbon Golf has ignited debate.
Far from it.

Since becoming an ambassador for the streetwear-inspired brand in early 2024, after nearly a decade with Nike, Day has consistently showcased unconventional outfits on the course.
Day's decision to depart Nike and join Malbon was driven by his desire to embrace a more comfortable and personalized style on the course.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the restrictive fit of traditional golf apparel, noting that he preferred the relaxed, streetwear-inspired designs offered by Malbon Golf.
Malbon Golf, founded in 2017 by Stephen and Erica Malbon, is renowned for its fusion of golf and streetwear aesthetics.
The brand has gained popularity for its innovative approach to golf fashion, appealing to a younger and more diverse audience.
Day now loves to raise eyebrows just about everytime he strides onto a golf course.
Notably during the 2024 Masters he wore a baggy Malbon sweater vest that stood out against the customary attire at Augusta National. He landed himself in hot water that week with Augusta National officials as he was asked to remove his sweater because the Malbon lettering was too big.
The same thing then happened at the Farmers Insurance Open, also at Torrey Pines, earlier this season. Day was asked to cover the Malbon logo on his windbreaker during the third round leading to further discussions about the evolving dress codes in professional golf.

And then two weeks ago Day went full groutfit mode at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
That led to some wild comments on X / Twitter.
"He's gone too far now," commented one fan.

Day has expressed his enthusiasm for his collaboration with Malbon Golf, emphasizing the uniqueness of their designs. He appreciates the opportunity to wear apparel that sets him apart, stating: "It's kind of nice to be able to come out to an event and wear something that no one else is wearing."
The 13-time PGA Tour winner also recently confirmed the majority of his on-course fits are chosen by himself and not always scripted by Malbon Golf.
Day's partnership with Malbon reflects a broader trend in golf fashion, where traditional norms are being challenged by contemporary, streetwear-influenced styles.
Some fans like it, others loathe it.
While opinions on Day's Malbon Golf apparel remain divided, it's evident his fashion choices have sparked meaningful conversations about the future of golf attire.
As the sport continues to evolve, the integration of modern fashion elements may become more prevalent, appealing to a younger and more diverse audience.
