Rory McIlroy records worst putting performance on PGA Tour since 2014
World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy both struggled on day three of The Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines.

Scottie Scheffler and Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy both went backwards on day three of The Genesis Invitational.
American Scheffler hit a 4-over 76 whilst McIlroy recorded his worst putting performance on the PGA Tour in more than a decade en route to his 2-over 74.
Scheffler's round contained three bogeys, one double bogey and one birdie whilst McIlroy dropped shots at the sixth, eighth and 16th.
McIlroy birdied the ninth and picked up another shot on the final hole to trail leader Patrick Rodgers by five strokes with 18 holes to play.
The four-time major champ lost nearly four strokes on the greens at Torrey Pines' South course, which was his worst since the 2014 Wells Fargo Championship.
Scheffler's 76 was the highest round he has recorded on Tour since the 2022 Players Championship. He even missed a putt from inside three feet.
Ludvig Aberg, Denny McCarthy, Tony Finau, Patrick Cantlay, Tommy Fleetwood and 36-hole leader Davis Thompson are also inside the top-10.
Aberg made his first ever hole-in-one on the PGA Tour at the third hole.
The Genesis is usually held at Riviera Country Club but was relocated to Torrey Pines because of the Los Angeles wildfires.
Tournament host Tiger Wood was supposed to play but withdrew, explaining he needed more time to process the recent death of his mother Kultida.
The PGA Tour have paid tribute to Woods' mother this week.
Woods is expected to make an appearance in California tomorrow to present the trophy to the winner.
It is understood Woods will also play his TGL match next Tuesday.
