PGA Tour pays fitting tribute to Tiger Woods' late mother with white flag at Genesis Invitational
In a tribute to Tiger Woods' late mother Kultida Woods, the 7th hole at the 2025 Genesis Invitational will feature an all-white flag at Torrey Pines South.
The PGA Tour is paying tribute to Tiger Woods' late mother Kultida Woods at the Genesis Invitational this week with an all-white flag on the 7th hole at Torrey Pines South Course.
Woods, 49, confirmed earlier this month his mother Tida sadly passed away aged 78.
Tida was a faithful Buddhist, and the number seven and colour white are significant in Buddhism.
The number and colour symbolizes purity, wisdom, enlightenment and spiritual progress within the religion.
They frequently appear in sacred texts, rituals, and iconography to remind practitioners of their journey toward liberation (nirvana).
The PGA Tour confirmed its tribute to Woods' mother Kultida in a social media post just before the start of Thursday's first round.

Woods, who serves as the tournament host through his foundation, had planned to make his return to the PGA Tour at this event, marking his first official start since the 2024 Open at Royal Troon.
But a heartfelt statement earlier this week, Woods expressed he is "just not ready" to compete despite his best efforts to prepare, acknowledging that playing is what his mother would have wanted.
Woods emphasized he is still processing his mother's loss and he also extended gratitude to those who have offered support to his family during this difficult time.

Kultida was a significant influence in Tigerโs life and career.
The former World No.1 described his mother as his biggest fan and greatest supporter, stating that without her, none of his personal achievements would have been possible.
The Genesis Invitational, originally scheduled at Riviera Country Club, was relocated to Torrey Pines South due to the recent wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
The 2025 Genesis Invitational is one of eight signature events on the schedule.
It features a field of 80 players and a total prize purse of $20m.
That means the winner will take home the top prize of $4m.
