Former CBS golf reporter takes dig at content creators after PGA Tour announcement
Former CBS on-course reporter and golf instructor Peter Kostis has offered his unfiltered thoughts after the PGA Tour announced the Creator Classic field.

CBS' former on-course golf reporter Peter Kostis has taken a dim view of social media influencers after the PGA Tour announced the field for the forthcoming Creator Classic.
The Creator Classic first debuted in 2024 and it featured 16 of the most prominent YouTubers competing on the back nine of East Lake before the Tour Championship.
Paige Spiranac, the Bryan Bros, Peter Finch, Luke Kwon, Micah Morris and Good Good's Garrett Clark were among the notables to take part in the inaugural tournament last August.
It was such a success that the Tour have decided to hold three more Creator Classics in 2025, starting on 12 March before the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
Kostis - who has never been afraid to offer his unfiltered opinions - took to X after the announcement.
"When golf disruptors come along (content creators) they are initially well received for several reasons," he wrote on Tuesday.
"They are fresh, independent, answer to no one and, they offer a different perspective from the status quo (Manufacturers, TV, LIV and the PGA Tour).
"Eventually, they almost always become a part of the status quo either financially, by inclusion, or both.
"At that point the content creators cease to be independent disruptors and become mouthpieces for those they used to rail against. Follow the money. Follow the access."
Asked by one user if he was 'calling out' recent LIV Golf recruit Rick Shiels, Kostis replied: "Did you see his name in the Tweet? No! It was my commentary on the evolution of most (not all) content creators who are initially disruptive.... that's all."
