Jon Rahm lends his letterman jacket to LIV Golf's latest signing
Jon Rahm let Rick Shiels use his lettermen jacket as it was confirmed the YouTube sensation has joined LIV Golf as an ambassador.
Rick Shiels borrowed Jon Rahm's letterman jacket to announce he is LIV Golf's latest signing.
Shiels, who currently has amassed nearly three million subscribers on his YouTube channel, confirmed the news on 24 January.
He has signed a multi-year contract with LIV to become an ambassador and his first video will see him play against Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau.
Shiels will attend all 14 LIV events in 2025 and content will include 'Break 75' series, a 10-shot challenge, five-man scrambles and two vs. two matches.
"Partnering with LIV Golf provides an incredible opportunity to take my content to the next level," he said.
"From playing with some of the best golfers in the world to showcasing their courses and teams, I can't wait to share this journey with my audience.
"Together, we're bringing fans closer to the action and showing the world a new side of golf."
The influencer will also launch ToTShots.
It is an initiative designed to introduce children aged three to five to golf using engaging games and activities.
LIV Golf will contribute $50,000 to that annually.
"Rick's creativity and passion for the game align perfectly with our mission to grow the sport and connect with a broader audience," said Adam Harter, LIV Golf chief marketing officer.
"Through this collaboration, Rick will give fans an inside look at the incredible courses we play around the globe, bring them closer to our players, and offer a unique perspective on what makes team golf so fun and compelling.
"Together, we're opening new doors for fans and bringing them closer to the sport than ever before."
LIV's third full season kicks off on 6 February in Saudi Arabia.
They will play their first tournament under lights in Riyadh to cater for a U.S. audience following news the rival league has struck a TV deal with Fox.
