Tyrrell Hatton builds three-shot lead at LIV Golf Nashville
Tyrrell Hatton has teed up the chance to claim his maiden LIV Golf League title at the breakaway tour's ninth event of 2024 in Nashville.
England's Tyrrell Hatton will take a three-shot lead into the final round of LIV Golf Nashville.
Hatton carded an opening round of six-under 64 at The Grove on Friday and went one better today.
The 32-year-old sits atop the leaderboard on 13-under, three clear of the American John Catlin.
Catlin is standing in for the injured Charles Howell III.
Elsewhere, Hatton has 2024 US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau breathing down his neck three strokes behind.
DeChambeau is tied for third on nine-under with Jon Rahm.
Carlos Ortiz, Cameron Smith, Harold Varner III, Lee Westwood and Sam Horsfield are also inside the top-10.
In the team element, Rahm's Legion XIII lead DeChambeau's Crushers by five strokes.
"I got off to a little bit of a slow start," Hatton told reporters.
"I was a bit scruffy from tee to green over the first 11 holes and yeah, it was nice to hole that putt on 12 and then chipping in on 13 was a bonus."
He added: "I definitely [then] had momentum on my side and I carried that through to the finish."
Rahm joined LIV Golf last December for a reported half a billion dollars.
Aside from withdrawing from LIV Golf Houston due to injury, the Spaniard has finished inside the top-10 of every event he has entered on the rival league.
He is yet to win.
Hatton also joined LIV for the 2024 season and, despite playing consistently well he is also yet to claim a victory.
