Multiple major champ argues with LIV Golf caddie: "It's cushty, isn't it?!"
Multiple major champion Dame Laura Davies says she cannot watch LIV Golf because there is absolutely no jeopardy in the league.
Multiple major champion Dame Laura Davies was involved in a heated exchange with Martin Kaymer's caddie about LIV Golf.
Davies butted heads with veteran looper Craig Connelly on the most recent edition of the Sky Sports Golf podcast.
The hall of famer actually admitted she does like the breakaway tour, but is absolutely not a fan of the 54-hole format.
And Davies argued because there is no jeopardy in LIV she cannot consider it 'top level sport'.
She told Connelly: "It's cushty, isn't it Craig?"
Connelly replied: "It's far from cushty, Laura. It's still the same. You've got to go out and prepare, it's like any other tournament."
Davies hit back: "It's 54 holes, it's no cut, it's good money, it's just not top level sport for me.
"I don't consider it top level sport, I really don't. There's got to be some jeopardy, there's no jeopardy."

"I just don't see why LIV can't become 72-hole strokeplay"
Davies also has issues with LIV's format.
Since LIV's noisy introduction into the elite men's game in June 2022, the circuit has always played 54-hole events with a shotgun start.
Some high-profile names within the sport have also argued that this means LIV golfers aren't playing the courses the way they are designed.
For example, could you imagine competitors starting on the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass or on the par-3 12th at Augusta National?

"I know the players and caddies love it," Davies said.
"They all get the same conditions, it's quick. But as someone who loves watching live golf, I can’t watch it because it's too disjointed and it's too far fetched.
"All over the course you've got things flashing round.
"I just don't see why LIV can't become 72-hole stroke play. It's convention, it's the way it is. That's the only way personally that I can get on board with it."
She added: "It's disjointed for me all day long. I understand why all the players, caddies and officials love it.
"It's very easy, but not everything that's easy is great."
Even some LIV players have called for a format change.
Jon Rahm, LIV's 2024 marquee signing, implored the PIF-backed league to switch to 72 holes on the eve of his Masters defence last April.
"I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I definitely wouldn't mind going back to 72 holes," Rahm previously said.
When Rahm made that comment, though, the Spaniard was referencing LIV's bid for Official World Golf Ranking points.
LIV have now abandoned their pursuit for OWGR accreditation.
Some major championship governing bodies, such as the R&A and USGA, have now created a direct pathway into The Open and U.S. Open for LIV players via their individual standings.
The leading LIV player, not otherwise exempt, will be playing at Oakmont and Royal Portrush later this summer.
