Tiger Woods spent time in the commentary booth last night during the third round of the Hero World Challenge.

Woods discussed a number of topics including hitting drivers, his thoughts on the Ryder Cup and the bright new stars in the game.

The 45-year-old 15-time major champion was pressed on if he would commit to the PNC Championship but he wouldn't say yes or no.

Perhaps one of the most comical lines from Woods was when he was asked about Collin Morikawa.

Morikawa, 24, is on course to become the world number one and looks like he has an unsurmountable lead going into round four.

Woods' thoughts on the bright young talent? "He's plays like an athletic Jim Furyk." An interesting take, to say the least.

Understandably, Woods would not be drawn into discussing his car crash, only explaining: "The last nine months have been really hard."

He went onto explain that at this point he can hit "any club in the bag" but joked: "I'm not at the point where I can hear it land".

Woods also discussed:

  • The passing of Lee Elder, whom he described as "never bitter and very humble", adding: "We lost one of the great heroes of the game"

  • Playing a hit and giggle at the moment is easy, and he "can slap it around and hop in the cart"

  • At this moment in time, he does not feel like he is "taking a risk" when making a swing

  • Morikawa is going to win "a ton of events, period"

  • How he wouldn't repeat what he told the United States team going into the Sunday of the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits

  • How he told Bryson DeChambeau what he is doing is "historic" describing going down the "rabbit hole" of long drive is remarkable

  • The growth of his foundation

Woods is the tournament host this week in Albany, Bahamas. It would be fitting to see him hand over the trophy to Morikawa, who has had a simply sensational year in world golf.

The big cat was also pictured hitting drivers on Saturday afternoon and laughing and joking with DeChambeau.
