Three-time Wyndham Championship winner withdraws from PGA Tour event
Three-time Wyndham Championship winner Davis Love III has withdrawn from the forthcoming PGA Tour event on the anniversary of his nuclear LIV Golf comments.
Davis Love III has withdrawn from the Wyndham Championship on the PGA Tour.
No reason was given for his withdrawal for the final event of the regular season before the forthcoming FedEx Cup playoffs.
Love, who has won this event three times in his career, withdrew from the tournament on 31 July.
The most recent of those victories came in 2015 when he became the oldest winner on the PGA Tour aged 51.

He has been replaced in the field by Harry Higgs. Keith Mitchell has also withdrawn from the field, with Cameron Percy taking his spot.
In an interesting coincidence, Love's withdrawal comes on somewhat of an anniversary of his simply nuclear comments about LIV Golf.
Last August Love blasted LIV Golf players before the tournament at the height of golf's 'civil war'.
Love suggested PGA Tour members would be willing to boycott events if LIV Golf players were successful in court.
"We don't want those guys playing," Love previously said in an impassioned news conference.
"We don't care what the courts say, our only option really, the nuclear option is to say, well, fine, if they have to play in our events, we just won't play."

The landscape of men's professional golf has changed considerably since then as the PGA Tour announced on 6 June they had entered to into a 'framework agreement' with LIV Golf's backers, the Saudi PIF, which caught everyone - including Love - by surprise.
Love, who sits on the PGA Tour's policy board, called for patience from members in light of that deal.
The Hall of Famer penned a letter to the players in late June which read:
The defending champion of the Wyndham Championship is Tom Kim.

Justin Thomas did appear to have a Ryder Cup spot on the line but Fred Couples appeared to indicate the two-time major champ will be in Rome.
