LIV Golf's Phil Mickelson accuses (?!) PGA Tour exec of lying under oath
LIV Golf's Phil Mickelson appeared to endorse the notion a high-ranking PGA Tour executive lied under oath in last month's US Senate hearing.
Phil Mickelson recently took a flamethrower to the memo written by Jay Monahan upon his return which included appointing a taskforce to determine what sanctions LIV Golf players should face if they wish to return to the PGA Tour.
Now Lefty has taken things to the next level and appeared to endorse the accusation high-ranking PGA Tour exec Ron Price lied under oath when he appeared before a US Senate hearing last month to answer questions about the PGA Tour, DP World Tour's secret deal with the Saudi PIF.
There were a number of revelations from the hearing that included Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and the negotiations behind the scenes.
Price made it abundantly clear the PGA Tour could not compete with the Saudi PIF in a long-term battle.
The exec claimed the PGA Tour waited until they were in the strongest possible position legally before brokering the deal.
Price also said the new, for-profit golf company would have a $1bn investment from the PIF.
"My entire concern here is to put this divisive period behind us, and for the sake of players, fans, sponsors and charities, unite the game of golf again," Dunne told US Senator Richard Blumenthal and other lawmakers.
Blumenthal, a democrat, announced the probe into the 6 June announcement because of his concerns "about the Saudi government's role in influencing this effort and the risks posed by a foreign government entity assuming control over a cherished American institution."
Lefty has now endorsed a post written by Bob Ball, who appeared to find a $350m hole in Price's math.
Mickelson wrote above his tweet:

Interesting math. For years their words and the truth have had a huge gap. But to say this under oath to Congress is next level. https://t.co/K2TqE38wXV

This comes days after Mickelson tore Monahan's memo to shreds that was issued to PGA Tour players before the 3M Open.
Monahan's memo outlined how tour loyalists would be financially compensated for not bolting to the breakaway tour last year.
The under fire boss also outlined plans for a taskforce to be created to determine what sanctions LIV players should face if they wish to return.

Mickelson torched that idea, suggesting it was a 'colossal waste of time' as no LIV player wishes to return.
Mickelson is back in action this week with the rival league, taking his HyFlyers to The Old White at The Greenbrier.
