Matt Fitzpatrick BLASTS Fabrizio Romano over Sheffield (United!) tweet
Fabrizio Romano labelled a "numpty" by US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick.
Italian football journalist and 'Here We Go' transfer supremo Fabrizio Romano has been called a "numpty" by US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick.
Romano tweeted on July 11 how French football side Olympique Marseille were in advanced negotiations over personal terms for the signing of attacking midfielder Iliman Ndiaye.
Three weeks on and the signing has now happened, with Marseille fans welcoming their new man on board at the airport in the early hours:
…this is how Olympique Marseille fans have welcomed Iliman Ndiaye ⚪️
1am at the airport, incredible passion.

Fitzpatrick, who responded to Romano's initial tweet 20 days later, took issue with the fact the football transfer legend had labelled his club as 'Sheffield' rather than 'Sheffield United'.
Of course those familiar with English football teams will know there are two clubs in Sheffield.
One by the name of Fitzpatrick's adored Sheffield United, and the other as Sheffield Wednesday.
It’s Sheffield United numpty, not Sheffield. https://t.co/p0PUwVgGl1

On July 11, Romano tweeted:
Fitzpatrick tweeted on July 31:
As Romano first reported, Ndiaye is now indeed on his way out of Bramall Lane.
The fee is expected to be around £20m.
One Twitter user, or X as we're supposed to call it now, commented how Fitzpatrick was a "true blade".
Though another took exception to that.
That’s strange Harry, because you’re wrong on all fronts there… apart from the tattoo my mum would kill me https://t.co/n8PUgfo1Aq

Fitzpatrick was having none of it.
