WATCH: Home favourite plays other-worldly pot bunker shot at The Open!
Matthew Jordan played an incredible shot from a pot bunker on the first day of the 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.
Matthew Jordan was the first to tee off at the The Open which meant he was one of the first to face the treacherous pot bunkers at Royal Liverpool.
Jordan was joined by a huge gallery from the off at Hoylake and the support paid dividends early doors as he grabbed the early lead.
That was thanks to making birdies at the second and fifth hole. He turned in 2-under 33, made a safe par at 10 but it was on 11 where things got spicy.
His approach shot at the par-4 found the lip of a pot bunker. When you watch the clip below, you'll likely think to yourself he had few options.
Perhaps it would have been better to go sideways? Well, that's not what Jordan had in mind. Somehow, he managed to get his ball out.
Jordan ultimately walked off the hole with a bogey. But it could have been much, much worse. This was awesome, awesome stuff from Jordan.

"I just froze"
You will have no doubt heard Royal Liverpool holds a special place in the heart of Tiger Woods.
It was here that Woods captured his first major championship after the sudden death of his father Earl.
Recently Woods, now 47, made the claim that it was the 'most gratifying' major he has ever won on British soil.
Royal Liverpool member Jordan was there at the time. Unfortunately, he didn't have the courage to go up to Tiger when he saw him on the putting green.
Jordan told reporters earlier in the week:
