Tommy Fleetwood pens new golf equipment deal with TaylorMade
Tommy Fleetwood joins Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods at TaylorMade...
Our suspicions were true. Tommy Fleetwood has agreed a new equipment deal with TaylorMade, according to the brand's social media channels on Monday night.
Fleetwood, who has been a free agent in the golf equipment world ever since Nike Golf came out of the hardware market in 2016, appeared in TaylorMade's latest social media post to confirm the new deal. Watch the video below:
While no details have yet been released about the length of the deal or the exact clubs going into his bag, Fleetwood will definitely be joining a TaylorMade roster that includes the likes of Masters champion Dustin Johnson, four-time major winner Rory McIlroy and arguably the greatest player of all time in Tiger Woods.
Fleetwood had been raising suspicions that he was about to join TaylorMade in recent months, especially after putting a number of TaylorMade clubs in his bag, such as the P-7TW irons.
The Englishman had also been using the brand's GAPR Lo utility iron for two years. However, unlike the retail version, Fleetwood's GAPR does not feature an adjustable hosel.
Fleetwood has not won a tournament since the Nedbank Challenge at the back of 2019.
While the year of 2020 wasn't exactly Fleetwood's finest, he did still manage to pick up five top-10 finishes, including runner-up finishes in Abu Dhabi and at the Scottish Open.
Fleetwood is a five-time winner on the European Tour, but is still searching for that elusive win on the PGA Tour.
