Lucas Glover secures fifth career win in style with Srixon
American Lucas Glover sealed his fifth PGA Tour victory at the Wyndham Championship and, in doing so, secured his place in the FedEx Cup Playoffs that begin this week.
In a tough field of players competing for their spot in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, Lucas Glover held his nerve to secure a two-shot victory over Russell Henley and Byeong Hun An.
Glover, 43, followed a stunning Saturday round of 62 with a two-under-par 68 on Sunday to get the job done at Sedgefield Country Club.
The win was Glover's fifth on the PGA Tour, and as well as a $1.3 million winners cheque, the American has also secured his spot in the FedEx Cup playoffs that begin this week in Memphis.
The victory catapulted him up the ranking from 112th to 49th in the FedEx Cup standings, with a number of notable players, including Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel and Adam Scott, all failing to produce the performances needed to prolong their seasons.

Glover had a steady opening to his final round before poor weather drew play to a halt for two hours, with the leaders only having four holes left to play. Henley took the outright lead after the delay with a birdie on the 15th hole but then proceeded to bogey all of the remaining three holes to give Glover a clear route to victory.
A lucky bounce saw Glover's tee shot on 18 ricochets off a police buggy, preventing it from ending up in the pine straws, and he then proceeded to lay up with his second shot before sticking his approach close and holing the par putt to seal the win.

Glover was almost flawless tee-to-green during the week, picking up +3.27 strokes on the field. Eventually proving to be the deciding factor, his approach play was also excellent, with the American gaining +2.16 strokes on the field in the category.
All in all an outstanding week for Lucas, it was a visibly emotional victory for the whole Glover family as they celebrated on the 18th green.
