Tyrrell Hatton lands European Tour Golfer of the Month award
Tyrrell Hatton received 59.4% of the vote to be named the European Tour Golfer of the Month.
Tyrrell Hatton has been named the European Tour Golfer of the Month following his sensational victory at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
The Englishman cruised to a four-shot victory over Jason Scrivener in January to claim his fourth Rolex Series title and climb to a career-high position of 5th in the world rankings.
"Tyrrell Hatton won the first Golfer of the Month award of 2021 with 59.4% of the vote, courtesy of his four-stroke victory at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship," read a statement from the European Tour.
"His triumph marked an impressive start to the season, and he put together rounds of 65-68-71-66 to claim his fourth Rolex Series title, which also saw him secure a career-high of fifth in the Official World Golf Ranking.
"Hatton then followed up his win with a tie for 22nd at the OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic, highlighted by an impressive second round 64 that helped him to comfortably make the cut after a turbulent first round left him way down the leaderboard.
"Paul Casey was the runner-up in the first of this year’s head-to-head battles for Golfer of the Month, receiving 40.4% of the vote after winning a milestone 15th European Tour title at the iconic OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic. The Englishman had a fast start with a 67 on Thursday and put on a convincing display on his way to his own four-shot victory."
