10 of the funniest reactions to hilarious pic of Phil Mickelson, PGA Tour boss
Golf Twitter was loving this image of Phil Mickelson and Jay Monahan.
Some pictures are worth a thousand words. This one featuring LIV Golf's Phil Mickelson and PGA Tour boss Jay Monahan before the 2023 PGA Championship is simply sensational.
It was taken before the past champions dined at Oak Hill on the eve of the major.
In the shot you can see Monahan chatting to his golden boy Rory McIlroy - who seems to be simply over talking about the breakaway tour these days - and Lefty chatting to Collin Morikawa.
Morikawa, for some reason, looks thoroughly miserable.
Take a look at the picture here below, snapped by Golf's Claire Rogers:

A brief history of Jay and Phil's 'feud'
Mickelson started his 'beef' with Monahan way back in February 2022 when he claimed the PGA Tour was 'obnoxiously greedy' when talking about ending any potential threat of a rival golf tour.
"They could just hand back the media rights to the players," Mickelson told GolfDigest.
He added:
Mickelson said that when he played in The Match he was forced to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for his own media rights.
"That type of greed, to me, is beyond obnoxious," Mickelson said.
He was subsequently suspended by the tour when he joined LIV Golf. He responded by suing, but dropped out of the litigation when LIV Golf joined the action as a plaintiff.
Over the past 12 months Mickelson has made a series of claims, such as outlining how he proposed 'designated' events to Monahan but that idea was swiftly ignored.
He wrote on social media:
Monahan, unsurprisingly, has tried to dodge questions about Mickelson when facing the media.
He wouldn't comment on any disciplinary action the tour took against the six-time major champ.
When asked if Mickelson could one day return to the tour, Monahan said that a 'conversation' would need to take place.
"And I will be ready to have it as well," he told media.
