Rory McIlroy makes LIV vow as he reveals Erica Stoll's 'department this week'
Rory McIlroy made a LIV Golf vow before the US PGA Championship.
Rory McIlroy says he is planning to make a conscious effort to sidestep the LIV Golf narrative going forward.
As you undoubtedly know, McIlroy, who turned 34 earlier in the month, has taken centre stage as the PGA Tour grappled for supremacy with their Saudi-backed rival which emerged in June 2022 after months of smoke and mirrors.
McIlroy also feuded on-and-off with LIV supremo Greg Norman. At the height of that 'beef', McIlroy shaded Norman when he won the RBC Canadian Open. Norman responded by calling him 'brainwashed'.

Norman now believes that McIlroy has 'seen the light'. "I am glad Rory is recognising LIV has been a leader in getting the PGA Tour to try and follow us," the Great White Shark said.
Speaking before the 2023 PGA Championship, it appears that McIlroy fully wants to put all that drama behind him.
He did appear a tad grumpy with one question from a reporter when asked about where he sees the game in three years' time.

And he doesn't want to speculate? "No," came the reply.
He was then asked: Is it going to be a conscious thing for you going forward to try and sidestep that narrative?
McIlroy couldn't have been clearer with his response. "Yeah," he said.
The Ulsterman also revealed that his wife Erica Stoll has taken a little bit of pressure off his major preparations.
He said:
As for how his game is feeling, McIlroy said it's been tough getting over the 'mental deflation' of his Masters when he felt as though it was his best chance ever to win a green jacket.

"It's the mental aspect of it and the deflation of it... I still believe that I'm one of the best golfers in the world."
