Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's TGL has confirmed a new broadcast TV partner ahead of its debut season.

Nearly a year after announcing TGL had secured a broadcast rights agreement with ESPN, news has emerged today that Canadian sports network Sportsnet will broadcast the tech-infused golf league founded by PGA Tour superstars Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy

TGL will be broadcast in prime time hours.

It will be broadcast LIVE in the United States on ESPN and ESPN+, and Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ in Canada.

U.K. broadcast coverage of TGL remains TBC.

The new indoor golf league will feature a number of the biggest PGA Tour stars.

TGL will tee off on Tuesday 7 January 2025.

There will be 24 players in total on TGL.

Six teams each comprising four players will make up TGL for 2025.

Despite being broadcast on Sportsnet in Canada, there are no Canadian players on TGL.

According to Sportsnet, there are conversations happening in the background to try and change that in the future.

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler will not be part of the action though as he has declined to take part.

It is understood Scheffler could not fit TGL into his busy season schedule, especially after recently becoming a father for the first time.

The SoFi Center is also in Florida, with Scheffler and his family based some 1,300 miles away in Texas.

LIV Golf players will not be part of TGL.

Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton were initially in the lineup but they were sent packing from TGL as soon as they joined the Saudi-backed circuit earlier this season.

TGL was all set to start up in January 2024 but it was forced into a 12-month suspension after the stadium roof caved in.

The goal behind TGL is to provide sports fans with a viable entertainment alternative to the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup season.

Woods and McIlroy came up with the idea of TGL alongside Mike McCarley, the CEO and founder of TMRW Sports and TGL.

The new league will take place in a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility, giving up to 2,000 fans the chance to spectate up close and personal thanks to a huge virtual simulator and short-game complex.

TGL might will give golf fans the opportunity to watch the best players in the world compete against each other in a team-based format that promises to be a "high-tech, high-energy fan experience."

The centre boasts a giant simulator screen that measures 64 feet high by 46 feet across, roughly 20 times the size of a standard simulator screen.

The screen will be powered by Full Swing technology, and alongside it, the centre will also have a short-game area that includes three sand bunkers and three individual 15 feet x 27 feet virtual greens within a massive 3,800 square-foot putting surface.
