LPGA issues apology and hands out free tickets after shuttle bus chaos at Solheim Cup
LPGA hands out free weekend tickets for spectators who were affected by its shuttle bus chaos at the Solheim Cup.
LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan has issued a statement of apology for its shuttle bus mayhem at the Solheim Cup and confirmed complimentary free tickets have been sent to fans for this weekend.
Thousands of spectators weren affected by the shuttle bus mayhem outside of Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia on Friday.
There were delays of up to two to three hours for some Solheim Cup fans, many of whom missed out on the opening tee shots.
The first tee grandstand was half full as the morning foursomes got underway on Friday, reflective of the issues being experienced outside of the course.

Many fans rushed onto X / Twitter while they stood in a lengthy shuttle bus queue to berate the organisation of the biennial contest.
A number demanded a refund.
While they might not have got that as such, the LPGA has decided to dish out free tickets for the weekend for those spectators that were affected by the shuttle bus issues on Friday.
Stacy Lewis' Team USA raced into a commanding 6-2 lead on the first day as they look to win their first Solheim Cup since 2017.
Suzann Pettersen's Team Europe will be looking to bounce back this weekend as they attempt to do what no team has ever done in the 35-year history of the Solheim Cup and win it four times in a row.

We want to deeply apologize if this morning's transportation experience at the 2024 Solheim Cup impacted your enjoyment of the event. We certainly understand how frustrating this must have been.
We recognize the importance of efficient transportation to ensure that your day at the tournament is enjoyable from start to finish. We've made significant changes to our transportation system to mitigate these issues moving forward.
To express our regrets, we have pre-loaded two complimentary 'any-day' general admission tickets to your SeatGeek account to come back this weekend or to bring a friend if you already have tickets. These tickets can be used on either Saturday or Sunday.
Shortly, you will receive your 'Know Before You Go' email with all information on tomorrow's event, including an earlier gate time and transportation details.
