The PGA Tour heads to San Diego for the Farmers Insurance Open.

The tournament will be played on the North and South Course at Torrey Pines.

All the action gets underway on 22 January, with the PGA Tour opting for a Saturday finish to avoid clashing with the NFL's Conference Championship games.

The Farmers Insurance Open field was headlined by Xander Schauffele, but the two-time major champion is struggling with a rib injury.

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler is also absent as he continues his rehab from a hand injury he sustained over the Christmas period.

Collin Morikawa was also in the field but he withdrew

As did Mackenzie Hughes, Akshay Bhatia and Nicolai Hojgaard.

Ludvig Aberg is now the tournament favourite.

Hideki Matsuyama, Sungjae Im, Will Zalatoris, Jason Day, Tony Finau and Keegan Bradley are also playing.

As ever, there is a huge amount of prize money up for grabs.

The 2025 edition of the Farmers Insurance Open has a total prize purse of $9.3m.

That means the champ will walk away with $1,674,000.
