Everyone makes same TGL joke after Cam Young's disaster start at $20m PGA Tour event

Cameron Young began the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational at famed Bay Hill with a disastrous triple bogey.

PGA Tour golfer Cameron Young likely envisioned having a better start to the Arnold Palmer Invitational

Young has been struggling somewhat lately with his game and he came into the $20m signature event here at famed Bay Hill having missed back-to-back cuts.

It likely took just one swing on Thursday morning for Young to think that it might be another frustrating week on Tour

Young's first shot at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational travelled 248 yards.

That might sound like a lot to you if you're a complete chopper, but Young had a driver in hand and it was sniped so far left that it went out of bounds.

Adding to the unusual scene was the fact that Young still had an AirPod in his left ear.

Young - who was playing alongside England's Tommy Fleetwood - kept his second shot in play but ultimately trudged off the green with a triple bogey on his card.

Still, Golf Twitter X™ enjoyed the moment and Young was on the receiving end of a number of TGL jokes.

"You can take the player out of TGL but you can't take TGL out of the player," one X user joked.

Another added: "He should just focus on TGL where he can let his personality shine. Electric factory."

This user wrote: "The guy is simply a walking meme!"

@WillHardy wrote: "Are we sure he's not the new Matt Wolff? Just someone who happens to be really good at golf but doesn't actually enjoy any part of it."

TGL, in case you didn't know, is the indoor golf league that was co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy

Young plays for New York GC alongside Matthew Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele.

TGL competitors wear AirPods and communicate with the commentators.

The first season of the league will come to a conclusion at the end of this month.

McIlroy and Woods' teams were eliminated before the playoffs.

Despite missing out on the postseason, McIlroy reckons TGL has been a success.

Even despite the fact he was trolled by New York after missing a short putt.
