Rory McIlroy gives verdict on TGL future after being ridiculed by opposing team
PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy says he's excited to 'run it back' with TGL next year after his Boston Common Side were eliminated.

Rory McIlroy says he's excited to 'run it back' with TGL next year after his Boston Common Golf were eliminated.
McIlroy and his teammates - U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley and former Masters champ Adam Scott - needed to defeat New York by four points to have any chances of reaching the playoffs.
But despite being well in the match at the halfway stage, Xander Schauffele came up clutch in the singles to help LA win 10-6.
"It's been a lot of fun being in here, competing against the best players in the world," McIlroy told reporters.
"Look, I've been sort of a part of this since it was just an idea.
"So to see it come to life this year and to see the reception to it, that's been really, really cool and something that I know I'm very proud of and all the team behind this concept are very proud of, as well."

TGL officially launched in January following a 12-month delay after the purpose-built SoFi Center was damaged by a storm.
The indoor golf league that McIlroy co-founded with Tiger Woods attracted significant attention on its debut but ever since viewing figures have been all over the place.
As expected, Woods' involvement heavily impacts whether people tune in to watch on ESPN.

There have also been a few grumbles that the technology hasn't been working properly.
One of Tommy Fleetwood's shots failed to register on the launch monitor and Woods was visibly perplexed one of his short approaches flew the green by more than 20 yards.
Other TGL competitors have expressed disbelief at where some of their shots have ended up.

McIlroy admitted that he had the same concerns but they were put to bed when he tested the tech on against two of his own personal launch monitors.
When TGL concludes on 25 March golf fans will have to wait nine months until the second season.
McIlroy hopes people will tune in next year and he's excited to practice more at the SoFi Center alongside Bradley given they live so close to each other in Jupiter.
"I'd certainly want to run it back next year," he said. "I really enjoyed competing with these guys.
"But yeah, the nice thing is that Keegan and especially live very close to here, so we can hopefully pop in whenever we want and get a little bit of extra practice."

It was a reference to his heart-breaking missed putt on the 72nd hole at the 2024 U.S. Open that gave Bryson DeChambeau the opportunity to land his second major title.
DeChambeau took advantage and made an otherworldly par to clinch the title.
McIlroy then stormed off and recently revealed in the latest series of the Netflix docuseries Full Swing that he thought he was doing 'everyone a favour' by making a swift exit.
