PGA Tour star Max Homa has parted ways with his long-time caddie Joe Greiner ahead of The Masters.

Homa, 34, confirmed his shock caddie split to PGA Tour.com just before the first round of the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio.

The six-time PGA Tour winner has endured a rocky period on the circuit, especially this year off the back of four straight missed cuts.

Prior to that, Homa walked out of the Farmers Insurance Open with three holes remaining in his second round.

The American has not won on the PGA Tour since the Farmers Insurance Open in January 2023.

Once ranked fifth in the OWGR, Homa now looks on from the 78th rung of the world ladder.

Homa and Greiner had worked together full-time on the PGA Tour since 2019.

They have been friends ever since their younger days when growing up playing golf on the same public course at Vista Valencia GC in California.

But Homa confirmed to the PGA Tour on 3 April 2025 that he was no longer working with Greiner.

"Joe and I made memories for a lifetime and can’t be more thankful for all the hard work. We have parted ways and it will be sad to see him go," Homa said in a statement to PGATour.com.

"I’ll always be grateful to have walked the fairways with one of my best friends."

Homa has Bill Harke on the bag at this week's Valero Texas Open and he will remain on his bag at The Masters next week.

Harke has worked with numerous PGA Tour players including Chris Kirk, Jonas Blixt and Colt Knost.

There has been no update yet as to which bag Greiner could end up taking on the PGA Tour.

No doubt he will be in hot demand.

Homa is eligible to compete in next week's first major of the season at The Masters at famed Augusta National.

That is based on him finishing T3 at The Masters in 2024, along with being in the world's top 50 the last calendar year.

Homa's T3 at Augusta National last year marked his best ever finish in 21 career major appearances.

His only other top-10 finish in a major came with a T10 at the 2023 Open.
