Confirmed: Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods will play in 2024 PNC Championship
Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods will take part in the PNC Championship from 21-22 December.
Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods have confirmed their participation in the 2024 PNC Championship from 21-22 December.
After weeks of speculation as to whether Woods, 48, will be fit enough to compete in the end of season Scramble family event, the 15-time major champion confirmed via a written statement on 10 December that he will play in the PNC with his son.
"I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie," said Woods.
"Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family."
Woods was asked by NBC Sports host Dan Hicks on Sunday night during the final round broadcast of the Hero World Challenge whether he would be taking part in the PNC Championship.
But Woods gave nothing away at the time, albeit he did have a smirk on his face which suggested he would be playing with his 15-year-old son at The Ritz Carlton GC in Orlando, Florida.
Woods underwent the sixth back surgery of his career in September.
Prior to that he was already recovering from leg and ankle injuries sustained after his horror car crash in February 2021.

One of the big draws for Woods to tee it up in the PNC Championship is that he can use a golf cart should he wish.
The PNC Championship is a 36-hole scramble event comprised of 20 teams of major champions and their family members.
Team Woods have never won the event but they came closest in 2021 when they were runners-up to John Daly and his son John Daly II.
Despite Woods missing three of four cuts in the majors this season, Team Woods will still fancy their chances of a first PNC title.
Woods' son Charlie made his USGA championship debut at the U.S. Junior Amateur at Oakland Hills earlier this season but he went on to miss the cut following rounds of 82 and 80.
Charlie then went and finished T29 at last month’s Class 1A Florida High School Boys State Championship in Florida, an event that saw his Benjamin School finish runner-up in the state championship.

Woods claims he will not be returning to PGA Tour action until he believes his game is at a level with which he can compete against the world's best.
"I’m still not there," Woods revealed at his Hero World Challenge last week.
"These are 20 of the best players in the world and I’m not sharp enough to compete against them at this level.
"So when I’m ready to compete and play at this level, then I will."

Woods confirmed last week that he will be good to participate in his upcoming TGL that starts in January.
TGL, the brainchild of both Woods and Rory McIlroy, is a new tech-infused indoor golf league that will feature a number of the best PGA Tour players.
It was supposed to start up in January 2024 but the stadium roof at the SoFi Center caved in and it forced a 12-month suspension.
Here's a look at the TGL fixture schedule.
