It is not known when Schauffele will return.
The 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will begin on 30 January and conclude on 2 February.
The tournament is one of eight signature events.
That means there is a bumper prize purse of $20m.
This week's champion will walk away with the top prize of $3.6m.
Hideki Matsuyama won the first signature event of 2025 at the beginning of January.
