The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship will be played over 3-6 October at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.

Koepka said: "I've been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links, as well as two Open Championships at St Andrews over the years, and these trips are always highlights to my year."

The 34-year-old said he 'loves' links golf.

"And St Andrews is my favourite course in the world," he said. "I could play there every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it."

Koepka has never won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship but he did finish runner-up in 2014.

He said: "The atmosphere on and off the course at the Dunhill is fantastic.

"I was able to play with my father one year and my good friend and caddie, Ricky Elliott, another. Those two weeks will always be very special to me."

Koepka heads into LIV Golf Chicago looking to win his third event of the season on the breakaway tour.

In late August, he defeated Jon Rahm in a playoff to win his fifth overall title.

Despite success with LIV this season, Koepka has been poor in the majors.

He finished in a tie for 26th at both the PGA Championship and U.S. Open

And he finished in a tie for 45th at The Masters and shared 43rd place at The Open

Brooks Koepka will play a PGA Tour vs. LIV Golf match

Earlier in the month, Koepka confirmed that he and Bryson DeChambeau will take on Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler in a televised match.

It is scheduled to take place at a TBC venue in Las Vegas in December.

The news came as the PGA Tour and LIV's Saudi financiers continue to discuss a potential merger.

PGA Tour officials are meeting with LIV representatives in New York over the next two days.

Negotiations to unite the men's game have been taking place for more than a year.

Tiger Woods was reported to be involved in the talks, along with Adam Scott, but Sports Illustrated later claimed the 15-time major champion wasn't at the meeting.
