Brooks Koepka made it clear revenge wasn't on his mind after he defeated Jon Rahm in a playoff at LIV Golf's event at The Greenbrier.
Koepka and the former Masters champion were tied on 19-under after 54 holes in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
It was the American who prevailed in the first extra hole after Rahm three-putted for bogey at the par-3 18th.
Koepka, who has won five major championships, has now won five times on the Saudi-backed breakaway that he joined in 2022.
It was the first time he went toe-to-toe with the Spaniard since the final round of the 2023 Masters, of which Rahm prevailed.
Koepka has admitted in the past that he choked during the final round at Augusta National. He led by two after 54 holes and lost by four.
The 34-year-old said the defeat would take a long time to get over.
"I think this is probably my favourite [LIV win]," Koepka told Dom Boulet in the immediate aftermath of victory on Sunday.
"It's always good when you battle good players. I battled [Talor] Gooch for a while last year, it felt like every tournament, but yeah Jon is a hell of a player.
"For whatever reason he's always got the better of me as of late so it feels nice just to get one."
After if what transpired at Augusta National was on his mind, Koepka said: "I wasn't thinking about it, I just, it was just one of those things [to] just go and play golf and get it in the hole as quickly as possible.
"I played really well today, so I'm quite proud of myself for that. It was a great win and I'm ready to go and see my wife and kid."
Rahm hits back at wild rumours
At the beginning of the week a Golf Digest report, quoting an unnamed tour veteran, suggested Rahm wanted to rejoin the PGA Tour.
It was claimed that Rahm would be willing to give back the millions of dollars he was given to join LIV if he was allowed.
But nothing is further from the truth according to Rahm.
The claim also caught the attention of LIV commissioner Greg Norman.
As for Rahm, when he was allegedly shown a screen shot of the article, he is said to have claimed: "They just make s--- up.
"Couldn't be further from the truth."
In a press conference after his third round, he did say: "I think I got my expectations pretty on point with what I needed to -- what I would hope or I thought LIV Golf would be like."
