Anthony Kim announcement is made as LIV Golf future remains unclear
Anthony Kim, along with LIV Golf stars Louis Oosthuizen and Patrick Reed has confirmed he will be in the field at The International Series in Qatar.
Anthony Kim has confirmed he will play the penultimate event of the season on both the Asian Tour and LIV Golf's official feeder.
Kim has committed to playing International Series Qatar over 27-30 November.
Other prominent LIV players in the field at Doha Golf Club include former Masters champions Patrick Reed and Charl Schwartzel.
Former Open winner Louis Oosthuizen and talented Spanish youngsters David Puig and Eugenio Chacarra - who was axed from Sergio Garcia's Fireballs - have also entered.
The order of merit winner from the International Series will be given a golden ticket to the lucrative Saudi-backed league.
John Catlin currently leads the way with two events left.
The top 32 finishers in the rankings will also be eligible to enter the field at LIV Golf's Promotions event next month.
Kim surprised the golf world in February by announcing his return to competition.
He joined the breakaway tour as a wildcard, reportedly signing a one-year deal that included a bonus of between $5-7.5m.
He was once one of the game's brightest stars and drew comparisons to Tiger Woods.
And he was also key member of the winning 2008 U.S. Ryder Cup team.
But he stepped away from the sport in 2012 after reportedly suffering a severe injury to his Achilles.
How he lived his life over the past decade has been the subject of intense speculation.
Kim told reporters that he slipped into drug addiction but he is now a married man with a young daughter and is committed to his sobriety.
He has struggled on the course since his return. His his best finish with LIV came in the form of a solo 36th at The Greenbrier in August.
His longer-term commitment to LIV is not yet finalised.
It is understood that Kim wants to play professional golf for at least one more year.
He told bunkered in the summer that he is targeting trying to qualify for some major championships in 2025.
What is the International Series?
The International Series is a set of 10 enhanced events on the Asian Tour schedule which offers elevated prize funds and a pathway to LIV Golf.
It was introduced in 2022 with a landmark investment from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
