Rory McIlroy stars in HILARIOUS Ryder Cup Europe video with Luke Donald
Luke Actually! European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald and PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy deserve an Oscar for this video!
Rory McIlroy may have put the clubs away after a stunning 2022 campaign that saw him win both points races on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, but he is still winning off the course this month.
Should McIlroy's golf career ever turn south, it's fair to say he can at least fall back on his acting career after yet another brilliant bit of theatrics here!
Earlier this week, McIlroy's equipment supplier TaylorMade posted a superb video of its players singing in a choir and led by Tiger Woods.
World No.1 McIlroy played a starring role as he faffed around trying to find the correct page to sing 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas'.
Woods led the line as conductor of the choir, and let's just say Tommy Fleetwood looked a complete natural.
Several days later, McIlroy is back on set.
This time with the Ryder Cup Europe Instagram channel and 2023 European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald.
The video followed the famous from door act from Love Actually, which no doubt many of you will have watched.
"Luke Actually", Ryder Cup Europe captioned its latest video.
Over to you Luke and Rory...
"Who is it?" shouts McIlroy's wife Erica as the Ulsterman opens the door.
"It's carol singers," replies McIlroy, doing as captain Donald says on his first card.
The remaining cards read as follows:
McIlroy then says: "I'll try my best captain" before giving Donald a hug and wishing him Merry Christmas.
Here's the original for reference:
Donald recently spoke about how he is "trying not to think" about the crunch LIV Golf hearing that will determine whether or not certain players can compete in the biennial contest between Europe and United States in Rome, Italy, at the end of September 2023.
USA ran out a record 19-9 success against Europe at Whistling Straits in 2021.
This time around Donald will have as many as six captain's picks when he builds his 12-man side.
It marks an increase from the three players that Padraig Harrington was permitted, which forced him to make the then controversial decision to omit Justin Rose from the side.
