Olympic legend RIPS into Tiger Woods after hearing his tampon apology
Tiger Woods comes under heavy criticism over passing Justin Thomas a tampon on the golf course.
Olympic sprinting legend Michael Johnson has blasted golf legend Tiger Woods on social media after hearing the 15-time major champion's apology over handing a tampon to Justin Thomas after outdriving him at the Genesis Invitational.
Woods, 47, was seen passing a tampon into the hand of playing partner Thomas in the opening round of his long-awaited comeback to the PGA Tour on Thursday.
The incident sparked outrage on social media, in particular from Sky Sports Golf presenter Sarah Stirk.
But Paige Spiranac has defended Woods' sexist prank.
Woods issued an apology after the round, saying he and his friends like to play pranks on each other when they are out on the golf course.

"'It was supposed to be all fun and games but obviously it hasn't turned out that way and if I offended anybody that was not the case," said Woods.
"It was just friends having fun. As I said, if I offended anyone in any way shape or form, I'm sorry. It was not intended to be that way.
"We play pranks on one another all the time and virally I think that this did not come across that way but between us it was different."
That apology does not sit well with Olympic runner Johnson, though.
Apology starting with “If I offended anyone” is no apology. But this is Tiger. Never been a leader and he’s Teflon. Still heralded after all the mistakes so he’s learned nothing. Media focus always on miraculous recovery. Never why the need for recovery. https://t.co/nFkgo3xtWo

Woods went on to finish T45 in his first event back on the PGA Tour since the 150th Open Championship last July.
He ended the week on 1-under par and 16 shots behind eventual winner and new World No.1 Jon Rahm, who won for an incredible fifth time in his last nine worldwide starts.
