Job Title: Social Media Manager
Department: GolfMagic
Reports to: General Manager & Editor
Position Summary:
The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and managing engaging social media content across all GolfMagic platforms. This role requires a dynamic and creative individual with a strong understanding of social media trends, best practices, and audience engagement. The ideal candidate will be a confident on-camera personality with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Strategy:
- Develop and execute innovative social media strategies aligned with overall marketing and communications objectives of the business.
- Plan, script, and present engaging video content (e.g., short-form videos, live streams, tutorials) for various social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook).
- Create compelling written content for social media posts, including captions, hashtags, and engaging stories around all aspects of golf from the latest tour news, to working with our equipment editor
- Stay up-to-date on the latest social media trends, platform algorithms, and best practices.
- Conduct social media audits and analyse performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Community Management:
- Monitor and respond to all social media comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and nurture online communities by engaging with followers, running contests and giveaways, and fostering meaningful conversations.
- Identify and address potential social media crises effectively.
- Manage social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting, and performance tracking.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Collaborate with the editorial and commercial teams to develop integrated social media campaigns.
- Work with other departments of the Crash Media Business to ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
- Represent the organisation at industry events and conferences (both online and offline) as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in social media marketing, including content creation, community management, and campaign execution.
- 2+ years playing golf experience
- Proven experience as a social media presenter or on-camera talent.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and their respective algorithms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills with a confident on-camera presence.
- Highly creative and innovative with a passion for storytelling.
- Proficient in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools.
- A proficient golfer with a knowledgeable understanding of the game and relevant Tours.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with social media advertising platforms (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads).
- Experience with social listening tools.
- Experience in graphic design or photography.
