Justin Rose has parted ways with swing coach Sean Foley after an 11-year relationship.
Justin Rose has taken "complete ownership" of his game after ending his 11-year relationship with swing coach Sean Foley.
Working alongside Foley, Rose has accomplished his greatest achievements, having won the 2013 U.S Open at Merion Golf Club, an Olympic Gold Medal in 2016, before reaching the pinnacle of golf when he became World No.1 in 2018.
Rose returned to the PGA Tour last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge and played some of the best golf we have seen from the Englishman in a long time, finishing in T3.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Rose revealed that his split with the Canadian coach was partly down to the time they spent apart during the coronavirus pandemic, with Rose living in the Bahamas and Foley in Orlando.
"I spent the past three months working on my game at home," Rose said.
"I made a lot of progress and wanted to keep that momentum going when I returned to competition in Fort Worth. I felt it was a good time to take complete ownership of my swing and game.
"That idea is something Sean has always wanted for me.
"I am grateful for the successes I had under his tutelage and the career goals I was able to achieve."
Prior to the Charles Schwab Challenge, Rose had struggled in form and decided to part ways with Honma Golf during the PGA Tour's forced break, having only signed with the Japanese brand less than 18 months ago.
